2009 PSA PJ Quarterly Competition
New for 2009.
There are now two categories for the inexperienced (two stars or less) and the more experienced (more than two stars) groups. Each group will have a General PJ and a Themed PJ category. That means each person will have the opportunity to enter up to eight new mages. Also in 2009 in an effort to increase participation there will be no fee to participate. The Themed Category for November is Sports Action. Also since the themed contest is Sports Action, please no Sports in the General PJ category. Definition for Sports Action is on page for November.

DEFINITION OF AN ACCEPTABLE PJ IMAGE The only digital editing that can be allowed must fit with the PSA definition for acceptable Photojournalism images. “In the interest of credibility, photographs which misrepresent the truth, such as manipulation to alter the subject matter, or situations which are set up for the purpose of photography, are unacceptable.” “No elements may be moved, cloned, added, deleted, rearranged, combined or changed in any way that affects the integrity of the image content. No manipulation or modification is permitted except resizing, cropping, selective lightening or darkening, and restoration of original color of the scene. No special effect filters can be added or applied, and any sharpening must appear natural.”
This activity is for images that have never been accepted in a recognized exhibition in order to help promote new work.
